Dr. Yunus Gifts Modi a Memorable Photograph from 2015 During Bangkok Meeting

In a significant diplomatic engagement, Interim Government's Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus held a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Following the meeting, Dr. Yunus presented Prime Minister Modi with a special gift — a photograph from January 3, 2015, capturing a memorable moment during the 102nd Indian Science Congress in Mumbai. The image shows Prime Minister Modi awarding Dr. Yunus a gold medal in recognition of his contributions to science and society.

This gesture was officially shared through the verified Facebook page of the Chief Advisor (GOB), underscoring the continued cordial ties and mutual respect between the two figures.

The Bangkok meeting marks the first official interaction between Prime Minister Modi and Dr. Yunus since the latter assumed responsibilities under Bangladesh's interim government. Notably, the two had an informal exchange the previous evening (Thursday, March 3) during a BIMSTEC leaders' banquet, where they were seated side by side and exchanged pleasantries.
